NOTICE OF VACANCY

POSITION:   REGISTERED NURSE – Operating Room
                    Primarily Stratford Site
                    Regular Part-Time Position
    
REPORTS TO:  Manager, Peri-Operative Services

DATE REQUIRED:  As soon as possible

SALARY:   $29.36 to $42.44 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS:  
Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
Post graduate course in Operating Room Nursing.

EXPERIENCE:  
Recent clinical experience (minimum 2 years) in Operating Room Nursing. 

SKILLS/ABILITIES:  
Demonstrated ability to make quick appropriate decisions in an emergency situation.
Specialized nursing skills in the following areas:
- Below the Drip
- Venipuncture
- Central Lines - insertion and maintenance
- Arterial Lines - maintenance and withdrawal of blood
- Fluids and Electrolytes
- Initiation of IV’s in a life-threatening emergency
Up-to-date on OR technology and skills.
Ability to return to Stratford site within 20 minutes when on standby/on-call.
Leadership and coordination skills required.
Ability to work as a team member.
Ability to plan, organize and problem-solve.
Ongoing continuous education.
Excellent communication skills.
Working knowledge of Meditech Information System and personal computer applications.
