POSITION: Registered Nurse x 2
Primary Site: Stratford
Late Career Initiative - Maternal/Child Unit
POSITION SUMMARY: Registered Nurse who is 55 years of age or older to participate in the Late Career Nurse Initiative for approximately 120 hrs (3 weeks full time or one day per week (7.5 hrs)for 16 weeks). Hours are flexible and can be arranged to suit the candidate.
REPORTS TO: Manager, Maternal Child
DATE REQUIRED: As Soon As Possible
PROJECT EXPECTATIONS: The Late Career Nurse will research, gather data and create learning packages and / or develop guidelines to support staff in decision making and ensure quality and safe care is maintained on the Maternal Child unit. Best practices will be investigated and practice standards developed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse
- Project management/research courses preferred
- Ability to write / prepare professional documents
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least five years recent related experience in a hospital environment; Familiarity with Perinatal Nursing, current Breastfeeding Practices, Infection Control and Isolation practices
- Candidates must prepare a one page synopsis on the topic “what patient-centred care means to me” and submit with a letter of intention to Human Resources
