                     Critical Care, Pre-and Post-Anaesthetic Care and Pre-Admit Screening Units
                     Primarily Stratford Site
                     Casual Position with a Temporary Part-Time Assignment (for approximately 12 to 13 months)
REPORTS TO:  Manager, Critical Care and Specialty Services

DATE REQUIRED:  As soon as possible

SALARY:   $26.91 to $28.55 per hour

- Current Certificate of Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Minimum of two (2) years recent nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred with the ability to work to full scope of practice as defined by the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Experience in cardiac nursing preferred
- 12 lead ECG interpretation and basic cardiac arrhythmia interpretation courses
- Completion of IV Therapy course or equivalent
- Completion of IV Start course or equivalent
- Skilled in Medication Administration
- IV drug administration
- Insertion of Gastric tubes
- Flushing of PRN adaptors
- Subcutaneous portal insertion and drug administration
- Excellent physical assessment skills
- Working knowledge of or the ability to quickly comprehend the Meditech Information System and personal computer applications
- Ability to plan, organize and exercise effective decision making
- Demonstrated excellence in critical thinking, communication and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and function both independently and interdependently with the interprofessional care team
- Evidence of ongoing professional development and continuing education
- Ability to meet the physical demand of the position
