NOTICE OF VACANCY


POSITION:   UNIT CLERK I - Medicine/Palliative Care Unit
                      – Primarily Stratford Site
                      Full-Time Position


POSITION SUMMARY: As the primary contact person, the Unit Clerk coordinates unit activities to promote relationships with patients, visitors and healthcare professions.  In addition, the Unit Clerk contributes to the efficient function of the Unit primarily through effective clerical and communication activities. 


REPORTS TO:  Manager, Medicine and Medical Clinics


DATE REQUIRED:  April 30, 2014


SALARY:   $22.01 to $23.37 per hour


QUALIFICATIONS:  
- Minimum Grade 12 Education
- Medical Office Assistant Diploma or Equivalent


EXPERIENCE:  
-  Minimum one year experience in a health care setting


ABILITIES:   
- Medical terminology
-  Well-developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Able to plan, organize and prioritize work, multi-task and be flexible
- Able to take direction from staff
- Able to work independently or side-by-side with other members of the healthcare team
- Computer literate with a working knowledge of Meditech Information System and personal computer applications such as Microsoft office.
