Stroke Unit

The Stroke Unit is a 13 bed unit that has staff dedicated to the care of stroke patients.  The unit provides both acute care and rehabilitation following a stroke or a transient ischemic attack (TIA).  Patients remain on the same unit for both their acute and rehab care. 

The care team on the unit has special training in stroke care. This team includes: doctors, nurses, personal support workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech language therapists, registered dietitians, pharmacy, and social work.
