The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance is advising the public that the elevator at their Clinton Public Hospital site will be out of service from July 20, 2018 at 4:00 pm through August 20, 2018. This is a proactive replacement and modernization of the elevator which has been in service for over 25 years.
To accommodate this replacement most programs that take place on the second floor of the hospital have been cancelled or relocated to the basement and first floor.
Access to the basement level of the hospital can be gained by using the admitting entrance located adjacent to the Emergency Department. Access to the first floor can be gained by using the hospital main entrance. A covered, wheelchair accessible walkway will also be available for use from the admitting entrance on the basement level to the main entrance on the first floor. Public stairwells are available for use for visitors who need access to/from the basement and first level.
Funding for the replacement was received through the Ontario Government's Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund.
“We do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause,” says Doug Biesinger, Director Facilities Management. “And we thank you for your patience as we work to complete this necessary upgrade.”
