Smiling reduces stress, can lower blood pressure and even makes us appear younger and more attractive. Smiling releases endorphins and signals to our body that all is well.

What made you enter your field of work? I was in and out of the hospital which gave me good and bad experiences with staff. I hope to make the best of a bad situation for people coming in to the hospital.

Tell us about your first day of work at HPHA? My first shift being orientated as an RPN was a busy day, my coworker who was training me ended up transferring a patient to London. I followed another nurse for the rest of the shift!

What does a typical day in the department look like? Organized chaos. We see all kinds of different things in the emergency department and being new to this profession, everything surprises me! A typical day for me is learning things I didn't know were even possible.

What do you love most about your job? Being able to help people and working with an amazing team!

What are your favourite ways to spend your free time? Sleeping and watching Netflix!

What would people be surprised to learn about you? I am obsessed with pugs. I think they're adorable.

When you tell people what you do, how do they usually react? They are usually very surprised that I'm a nurse in the first place because I look so young. Once they get over that, they usually say it's a good fit for me.
