The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance promotes and supports patient and family centred care. We encourage involvement of designated family and loved ones during your stay.  We recognize that we are partners in care with you and your family.

Our visiting guidelines are designed to balance the patient’s needs for visitors and the health care team’s responsibilities to provide timely treatments and procedures.

Visiting Guidelines:

1. Families and other partners in care are welcome 24 hours a day according to patient preference, condition and care needs. Please check with unit staff about optimal visiting times for the patient.
2. Please do not visit the hospital if you are feeling sick (fever, cough, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea).
3. Please clean your hands before entering and after leaving the patient’s room using the hand sanitizer provided.                         
4. If the patient that you are visiting is in isolation, protective apparel is required before entering the room. Please check with the nursing staff for instructions on required protective apparel.
5. When the main entrance to the hospital is locked, entry to the Stratford General Hospital is controlled through the main entrance. Entrance to Clinton Public Hospital and St. Marys Memorial Hospital is controlled through the Emergency Department. At Seaforth Community Hospital entrance is controlled through the Admitting entrance on the north side of the building. Family members supporting a patient between the overnight hours are asked to remain in the patient’s room and advise unit staff when coming to and leaving the unit.
6. The number of people welcomed at the bedside at any one time will be determined in collaboration with the patient and family.  In order to support the care and comfort of our patients in semi-private and ward rooms, we may need to restrict the number of visitors. 
7. Visiting may be interrupted to provide appropriate patient care, and to protect the privacy of the patient and/or other patients in the same room.
8. Children under the age of 12 must be supervised by an adult at all times.
