• Differential diagnoses for explosive outbursts

• Treatment considerations - pharmacological and behavioural

• Manage disruptive behaviour during COVID-19

1:15 p.m. to 1:55 p.m. - Elizabeth Keys - Changes in Children's Sleep Behaviours and Patterns During the COVID-19 Pandemic

• Summarize how the COVID-19 pandmeic has influenced sleep patterns and sleep quality in Canadian children and their parents.

• Identify risk and protective influences on children’s sleep quality during the COVID-19 pandemic.

• Describe strategies and resources that can be used to support families of children whose sleep has worsened during the COVID-19 pandemic.

2 p.m. to 2:40 p.m. - Dr. Michelle Ponti - Screen Time: Promoting Healthy Screen Use in Children and Adolescents 

 

• Describe the evidence-based risks and potential benefits of digital media use in children and adolescents.

• Describe key recommendations in the Canadian Pediatric Society statements on screen use in young children 0-5 years, school-age children and adolescents.

• Learn how to counsel families about healthy use of digital screen media in their daily lives.

2:40 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. - Break

 

2:45 p.m. to 3:25 p.m. - Stratford General Hospital Department of Pediatrics - Case Presentations  

 

• Review some of the referrals to our office and Stratford General Hospital with common presentations but with some interesting findings.

• Review differential diagnosis of some common conditions in our practice.

• Review current literature in the management of these conditions.
