About HPHA

SCHF LogoThe role of the Seaforth Community Hospital Foundation is to provide the community with a range of opportunities to continually improve patient care at the Seaforth Community Hospital.

Since incorporation under the Canada Business Corporation Act in 1994, the Foundation has invested over $2 million in support of critical medical equipment, redevelopment and new technology to the Seaforth Community Hospital.

Ongoing support from the community is crucial to ensure that the necessary medical equipment, beyond Ministry of Health funding, is available when an emergency occurs. A gift will make a real impact at life's most crucial time.

“If we all give a little… we all get a lot!”

Mitchell District High School donates $700 to the Seaforth Community Hospital Foundation

June 29, 2023

The Seaforth Community Hospital Foundation is very grateful to receive a donation in the amount of $700 from Mitchell District High School.

In May, the Leadership class at Mitchell District High School hosted a charity basketball game between staff/students and the Ontario Provincial Police. The students were responsible for organizing the game and other activities that day.

“This was a wonderful student lead initiative,” noted Ron Lavoie, Seaforth Community Hospital Foundation Chair. “The Foundation is honoured to be one of the recipients receiving funds from this event.”

Carly McLeod, teacher of the Leadership class, could not be more proud of her students. “They did a great job organizing this event! They showed great leadership and community involvement.”

The donation will be used towards equipment to enhance patient care at the Seaforth Community Hospital.

“Once again, appreciation is extended to the students of the leadership class and Ms. McLeod for their efforts,” adds Lavoie.

Matt Huether Memorial Hockey Tournament Donates over $23,000 to the Seaforth Community Hospital Foundation

June 9, 2023

The Seaforth Community Hospital Foundation is very grateful to receive a memorial donation in the amount of $23,150 from the annual hockey tournament held in memory of Matt Huether.

The Young Buck’s hockey team plays in Seaforth and hosts an annual tournament in memory of their close friend, Matt, who passed away in 2018. Keep an eye out for next year’s tournament; this a community event you won’t want to miss!

The Seaforth Community Hospital Foundation acknowledges Matt’s family and friends’ actions to honour his memory and is very grateful to all those that have made this donation possible. We are honoured to be part of Matt’s legacy.

This donation will enhance the care provided in the Emergency Department at the Seaforth Community Hospital with the purchase of a Slit Lamp to assess eye injuries and a Tornado to support the required level of cleaning and disinfection of medical equipment.

Memorial donations to the Seaforth Community Hospital Foundation are a wonderful way to honour the memory of a loved one.
