Administrative Professionals at the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance (HPHA) are integral members of the interdisciplinary team! Their role helps provide the seamless delivery of patient care throughout the Alliance. While their administrative duties are often immediately recognized, as they are essential in helping a department run smoothly, their support can also extend to patients whether that be by scheduling follow-up appointments or by greeting them with a smile or friendly voice.
Administrative Professionals at the HPHA perform duties such as:
- Managing the flow of patients arriving at registration/reception desks
- Managing patient admissions
- Scheduling and rescheduling specialized appointments and bookings
- Providing the overhead paging function
- Inputting and validating patient information into tracking forms and data systems
- Transcribing and processing physician medication, laboratory and diagnostic imaging orders
- Performing finance related duties such as accounts receivable and payable, preparing bank statements, and inputting payroll information
- Sorting incoming/outgoing mail and maintain filing systems
- Planning meetings
- Providing support for telephone and email inquiries
- And so much more!
