The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance (HPHA) recognizes spiritual and religious need as a significant element in the holistic care of patients and families. There are many ways people give expression to spirituality and religious belief and practice, and HPHA respectfully honours the unique way each patient and their family relates to the beliefs and values that support them.

  • Wednesday - 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Community Faith Leadership

Our Spiritual Care Advisor and healthcare team work in partnership with Community Faith Leaders who care for patients. Community Faith Leaders support patients who have requested their services and are able to provide support during and outside of Family & Caregiver Presence Guidelines (visiting hours).

Upon entering a hospital, Community Faith Leaders complete required screening and comply with visitor requirements (see Community Faith Leadership Standard Work document). We respect that a Community Faith Leader is often the primary source of spiritual care for a patient and we are able to help with contacting these care providers.

New clergy to the area are encouraged to contact our Spiritual Care Advisor to arrange a meeting.

Spiritual Centre

At our Stratford General Hospital Site, a Spiritual Centre is located in the East Building, Level 1. The centre is quiet, wheelchair accessible, and is well suited to meditation, reflection and prayer. The centre can accommodate larger family meetings. Private usage of the space is possible and should be arranged with our Spiritual Care Advisor.

At our Clinton Public Hospital, St. Marys Memorial Hospital and Seaforth Community Hospital sites, please inquire with staff as to what hospital spaces are available for spiritual/religious needs.
