Let's get to know Anisha and Terri a bit better!
L to R: Anisha and Terri
What made you enter your field of work?
Terri: I started working in the medical field when I was 19. My great grandparents were in the nursing home that I was employed at. With their diagnoses, it made me want to pursue my education, taking palliative care course and eventually enrolling into an administrative role.
What motivated you to join HPHA?
Anisha: My daughter. During my time spent here having my daughter, the care provided by the nurses and doctors was exceptional. I remember having a conversation with a nurse about our career paths. She told me I’d be crazy not to apply. When my maternity leave was up, I knew I wanted to return to the medical field. I wanted to be apart of a thriving organization that’s committed to the well-being of their patients.
Terri: My husband Peter! He encouraged me to go back to school and complete my Medical Administration Diploma. After years at the Nursing Home, a change was needed. My first position here was Training and Development over at Avon Crest!
What are your short and long term career goals?
Terri: After gaining years of experience within the Alliance, my short term goal is to retire in five years! My long term goal is to travel abroad, with my husband of course!
What are your favourite ways to spend your free time?
Anisha: Going for walks in nature. Hanging out with friends and family. Playing board games and having a few laughs.
What do you love most about your job?
Terri: The people. But also how advanced technology has become to better serve our patients.
