About HPHA's Environmental Sustainability Committee

logo

The HPHA is proud to announce the establishment of a new Environmental Sustainability Committee. This group is made up of professionals from different backgrounds across HPHA who are committed to leading efforts that promote sustainability and reduce the environmental impact of HPHA’s operations. With a focus on environmental stewardship, the goal is to protect natural resources, reduce pollution, and mitigate climate change - recognizing the vital connection between environmental health and the well-being of current and future generations. The committee will work to foster a culture of sustainability by providing education and training opportunities for staff, patients, and visitors, raising awareness about key sustainability issues, and encouraging environmentally responsible practices across the organization. Through these initiatives, the committee is dedicated to contributing to a healthier, more sustainable future for all.

Bring Your Own Bag Initiative

We’re making a small change with a big impact!

As part of our commitment to sustainability, we’re encouraging patients coming for Medical Imaging or Day Surgery appointments to bring their own reusable bags for their belongings.

  • Any reusable bag will do: a shopping tote, duffel, or one with a zipper for secure closure.
  • You may be asked to bring one for your shoes and one for other personal items.
  • This helps minimize plastic waste, lower carbon emissions, and reduce costs for hospitals.

Thanks for helping us take steps toward a greener future!
